Don’t Force Connecticut Families Into A State Government Option

The Impacts:

The state government option would destabilize the private health insurance Connecticut families rely on.

Connecticut’s Partnership 2.0 plan lost over $10 million in 2018. We can’t afford another unaffordable new government insurance system. (Connecticut Business and Insurance Association, 4/5/19)

There is no successful state government option in America. Connecticut families should not be forced to buy into an untested system run by politicians.

The state government option would put the jobs of thousands of Connecticut residents at risk, in exchange for a system that would force patients to pay more to wait longer for worse care.

The Truth:

Connecticut families can’t afford the state government option. From a loss of control to lower quality care, the consequences of the state government option are undeniable. All patients in our state deserve high-quality, affordable health care but the state government option is the wrong choice. We need to build on what’s working and fix what isn’t in our current system – not replace it with a one-size-fits-all new government insurance system.
